Motista’s intelligence proved key in a $20B acquisition in the financial industry. The acquirer, a large wealth manager, leveraged Motista pre-closing to scrutinize the customers of the acquiree, a digital-first rival. Measuring customers’ motivations identified unforeseen areas of growth and risk. From there, Motista developed “Day 1 Playbooks” the acquirer used to engage, retain and grow acquired customers. Playbooks specified the precise motivations, messages and touch points to emphasize across wealth tiers. One and two years after closing, the acquirer exceeded its metrics for client and asset retention.
